Do you have a taped psychic reading from James Van Praagh?
This is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone had ever sat for a reading with psychic medium James Van Praagh. I’ve been reading his books, and in the stories he tells of readings he’s done, the level and amount of detail he supposedly brings over from the spirit world is truly amazing — if it’s true. Since he says in his books that he tapes his sessions and gives the tapes to his “sitters” (the people coming to him for advice from beyond) so that they can hear it all again however often they like — in case something that didn’t make sense at the time makes more sense later on — I thought maybe there would be somebody out there with an honest-to-goodness recording that he/she might be willing to share and have duplicated. Anybody?

i do not believe in ghosts. the Bible says the dead know nothing. that means that they dont watch me while i shower or sleep. i do not believe in mediums and i think they play a dangerous game with demons when they try to communicate with the dead. demons are more than willing to play that game with them if they are gullible enough to beleive they can talk to the dead.

First off if all this metaphysical crap was true James Randi would be short a million dollars.
Only dead perverts and god watch you in the shower. That is if you believe this crap.

How do you mediate the right way? Dose anybody know? It never seems to work for me…help!?
Like I’ll get it all quit and dark in my room and just sit on my bed…but I really can’t get relaxed fully, like I can sit there and I’ll almost trick myself into thinking that I’m relaxing and accually mediating, but I don’t think I’m getting anything out of it….

you aren’t trying to mediate, you are trying to meditate, and meditation just means you must be willing to sit quietly and simply listen, listen to your breath, listen to all the sounds around you, listen to random thoughts but don’t hold onto them, it’s about making yourself empty and receptive.

An easy way to meditate is to use one of Kelly Howell’s guided meditations which you can get as a CD or on iTunes. Her meditations are set to music that stimulates certain kinds of brainwaves that are conducive to meditation. I’ve used a lot of her stuff — it’s pretty awesome. Just look up Kelly Howell on iTunes or check out her website at http://www.brainsync.com.

Actually, there is no “right way”… The big thing is to find a way to quiet your mind. If you are like me, it is running the mental to do list whenever I try to sit quietly. You might try to deliberately slow and deepen your breathing, and just count the breaths. (one … breath in, two… breath out) and rather than get hung up on “how high can I count” just continue with the one/two. When your thoughts turn to other things, just gently return to the counted breathing.
Another thought. There are some essential oils and/or incenses traditionally used in different spiritual paths as aids to meditation. Perhaps a few drops of Frankincense Oil, in an aromalamp might help you. You can watch the candle flame, and the frankincense will work on your parasympathetic nervous system to slow and deepen the breathing, making it easier for you to approach a “semi-trance” state. The important thing to remember is that there is no really right or wrong way to begin.
