If so how does it work? I’m sure its not like on TV which is edited …
John Edwards the Medium …

I’m actually going to see him in a couple of weeks …

Suggestion by classic_stump
If you are refering to the pretty boy senator from North Carolina, no. I wouldn’t walk across the street to see him or any other senator for that matter.

If you are referring to the medium, yes I have seen him twice. The first time you are in awe. Just the possibility of being read, but reality sinks in and so does you skepticism. I listened to his talk before the readings begin, I found alot of truth in the stories he talked about. The second time, you realize the chances of being read are slim to none. The shows are very much like the live shows. Actually he is much funnier on stage. He is a great inspiration to your soul. I’d pay to see him again, and again. In the beginning his question are very general, but after a short time you realize there is a gift in him. If you have the chance to see him, run, don’t walk.

I believe he has a gift.

He was on Larry King a couple of nights ago.

He told a story of communicating with the mother of a young lady present. He told the young lady all that he had received from her mother but he wondered why she did not tell him when and why she died. John was questioning his gift until the young lady told him that her mother was in a coma and brain dead.

I have believed for a long time that souls in comatose and Alzheimer’s patients cross over before the body dies.

He is utterly fraudulent. He takes advantage of mourning people and manipulates them by coldreading.

The bible talks about this and it is true some can talk to spirits. It is pure evil and it would be best to have nothing to to with it.

It is a hoax -same as Sylvia Brown-and the rest. P.T. Barnum said ‘There’s a sucker born every minute. Sometimes they have people planted that they prearrange before hand

His proper name is John Edward. No “s” at the end.

I used to be very impressed with him when I first started hearing about him and then watching his show on cable.

The show didn’t last too long, and I suspect it might have been because so many people tried to debunk his “gift” that even if they weren’t successful, it created a LOT of doubt about him.

I’m not sure if he is legit or not. It’s possible he’s using any number of “tricks” to cold read people or guess his way through to a “psychic insight”. But when he walks up to someone in his studio, or on his show and says
“This morning you were talking to someone, in your kitchen, about a dog you had as a kid…. the dog’s name was……. Spider….. and it was a black mini poodle……” and that turns out to be exactly right; it makes one wonder.

    That’s not a regular guess-until-you-hit-on-it trick…
    that’s not a “sounds like….. ” guess, either.
That’s not even a “the name begins with a ‘T’….” fishing expedition.

I’m not sure what to think about John Edward.
I’d like to see him in person to decide once and for all, though. :-)

WWJD4U: True enough, audience plants (and eaves-dropping on people waiting in line to see a psychic or faith healer) are common tricks used by all types of scam artists, fake psychics & faith healers.
BUT, they are the hardest to pull off without getting caught; especially when you have many many people interested in debunking you. So if that is what John Edward was doing, well he never got caught and there is no proof of it so far…

As for Sylvia Brown… she’s a nutbag who hasn’t predicted anything right in more than 20 years!! Montel is crazy to keep promoting her scam.
