How does one determine if a psychic or clairvoyant is real or a scam?
Making the assumption that there are people are a legitimate psychics and clairvoyants, how does one determine a real one from a fake? What are the criteria used to determine if a psychic is actually a psychic?
While I tend to agree with Paul, I was hoping to elicit a response from a believer in this type of paranormal phenomena.

Neither are real so it is a wash.

Making the assumption that the moon is made of cheese, how does one determine whether or not a particular piece of cheese came from the moon?
The criterion is a very simple one. Prove that you got hold of information that you could not have obtained by non-psychic means.
No psychic has ever met this criterion.

I knew your question would bring out the peanut gallery. Watch all the thumbs down I get for giving you a straight answer.
If you can find one who works for free, it’s a pretty safe bet you are not getting scammed.
As far as real psychic ability, see if they know things about you that one couldn’t deduce from looking at you or the nature of your question. For example a question like, “When will I find love?” might elicit a response like, “I feel you are lonely.” or “According to your aura, you have a lot of love to give.” Sometimes the answer is extremely general- “You are a fun loving person…” Aren’t we all? Any reading which requires a follow-up is a sure sign of a scam: “I see a dark entity, a demon, has attached itself to you, and is the cause of your current trouble. I can get rid of it for a small fee.”
A real psychic can look into your soul and see what’s going on. He/she can find and reveal things you are hiding from yourself. If you phrase the question correctly and work with somebody who is good, the experience can be very helpful. Unfortunately, there are a lot of fakes and scammers out there.

How do you know if you are a clairvoyant?
Every so often i notice odd things.
The other day i was with my mom checking out a house to move to. It was really nice but i looked up and had a strong sense of a female about 20 something falling off the roof. There is also a dirt floor in the basement. I have also seen macabre scenes of seeing dead women in bath tubs.
How can i know if i am a clairvoyant or hallucinating? I have not been diagnosed Schizophrenic.
Ok, i take concerta and sertraline. I think they are in proper proportion. I only take the ADHD meds for school and they are only supposed to last 6 hours.
Also, i have seen things since i was a little kid. (though i ignored them)
I appreciate all input. I totally understand your belief of “if you have to ask, you dont”

It’s easy to tell if you’re clairvoyant. The answer is always “you aren’t”.
If you are seeing things that don’t exist, you should talk to a psychiatrist.

It sounds like you are likely sensing out energy in the space and are becoming more aware of the spirits and entities in the space.
I think that is really awesome. 🙂
In order to find out if these visions are true, I recommend keeping a journal and write all your impressions, visions, and the details of the occurrence. Then do some research and see if you can find anything to substantiate what you saw.
For example, if a girl really did fall off the roof, then chances are it should be recorded in a local newspaper article. Determining when, and sifting through all the stuff can take a long time. A lot of it you can do on the internet. But also, most libraries will have old archives on microfish that you can go through as some towns don’t bother transferring everything onto their websites.
Also, its ok to talk to the people who live or did live in the house, neighbours etc. They can often share more details that will help you find your info. Always be polite and considerate when talking to them. It will go a long way. 🙂
Don’t feel disheartened if you can’t find info right away. Eventually it will all make sense.
I hope that helps. 🙂

Since you are obsessed with scary things I’d say you were just imagining it.
Just like if you are interested in birds you spot a lot more nests than anybody else.
Of course, bird’s nests are real – unlike clairvoyance.

How can I learn to sharpen my Psychic and Clairvoyant abilities?
I know that I have them, but I want them to be more intense and useful for myself and others. So, what can I do for myself to really hone in on the Psychic and Clairvoyant abilities that I know that I possess? Thank You.
Please don’t respond with something like: “You’re Psychic, you should already know”. I’m being serious.
I am sorry to disappoint most people who responded with “Take the Randi Challenge”.At this moment I am not that good. I checked it out and if you will all please recall, I was ASKING how I could improve my Psychic or Clairvoyant abilities, not “Prove” them. I am most definitely not interested in trying to “Prove” them to ANYONE.
I just Know that I have them and was interested in LEARNING more about them.
If some don’t believe in the Power of Intuition, Sorry.

Many people believe they have psychic or clairvoyant abilities, but no one has ever proved it satisfactorily. Most demonstrations of psychic abilities can be put down to selective memory, luck or coincidence. e.g. “I had a vision of my mother ringing the doorbell and 5 minutes later she rang the doorbell”. These types of observations are common but rarely or never do they result in useful predictions — they are always “after the fact”.
Before you spend time, money and effort on trying to develop these abilities you believe you have, you should look very critically at the evidence for your belief. No one in human history has been able to withstand this sort of critical evaluation and demonstrate these types of abilities satisfactorily. You would be the first.
